Immersed in Marrakech with Nectar Retreats


Known for its colourful souks, mountains, deserts, and ancient streets—Morocco was the perfect setting for the retreat. Be Marrakech Riad offered a quiet space to unwind just outside the bustling Medina. The retreat included daily yoga sessions and excursions.

Project Goals:


The primary aim of documenting the experience for Nectar Retreats was to create authentic content for marketing and in-the-moment storytelling. This content would not only help sell out future retreats but also allow hosts and guests to remain present during the experience without worrying about their own content creation. They required high-quality imagery that captured the essence of the retreat, including day trips, yoga sessions, sound baths, and stunning accommodations. Additionally, some video clips were required for social media and future promotions.

The Process:


To authentically capture the experience, I immersed myself in every moment of the retreat, observing from a guest’s perspective to document the practices and tours. These visuals needed to reflect the unique offerings of the retreat while emphasizing the full travel experience. One of my goals is always to create a versatile library of content that can be used for any of the client’s retreat offerings, not only this specific experience.


Collaboration with Amy, the retreat organizer, was seamless. Familiar with my work, she trusted my creative process and allowed me the freedom to capture the experience in my style. To ensure nothing was missed, I created a detailed schedule and checklist, covering her shot list and additional moments I felt were essential to document.

Deliverables:


•A large stills library capturing the retreat experience

•Solo images of Amy (the host, owner of Nectar and yoga teacher)

•A hero video encapsulating the entire retreat experience

•UGC-style walkthrough video tours of the accommodations, offering a genuine feel of the retreat space
